James Becomes LACYP Junior Member Of The Year

James receiving his award

Congratulations go to James Hardy, who has just been voted LACYP Junior Member Of The Year. James has been a member of the club for many years and over the past couple of years has been volunteering on a regular basis. Deputy club leader Christine Sollice said, "James's story is typical of many of our young people at the club, he has had problems in the past, but through the hard work of his parents, club workers and himself he is turning into a very caring and helpful young man"

The new snooker season started in September and both teams have made a steady start. Keep up to date with all the results by following the snooker link below..

2nd Annual Sports Day

On the 6th July we held our second "Sports Day". This event has replaced our annual "Fun Day" which we ran for many years.
This year we showcased many sports in conjunction with the Burnley Sports Alliance, from 5 a side football, netball, boxing, team building games dance and cheerleading demos as well as a preview of the activities on offer at the Boys' club.
The weather was awful, but we still managed to attract over 500 people to the event and everyone seemed to have a great time.

Thanks go to our sponsors, Illstons Furnishers Barrowford and Warburtons Bakery.

13th Annual Golf Day

17 teams took part in another successful event at Plessington Golf Club near Blackburn. Thanks to all the teams who entered, but especially our main sponsors Catalyst and Cassons and to our Vice Chairman, Peter who organised the event, which raised around £3000 for club funds.

42nd Dinner Dance And Presentation Evening

70 members, staff, and management committee of our club enjoyed an excellent night where we celebrated the achievements of our members throughout the year followed by a disco. Guest of honour was Mr A Anwar, who is the Sports Development and Inclusion Officer for Burnley Borough Council.
This is our "flag ship" event and it's always good to see the members all dressed up and receiving their rewards for their achievement over the year!!

Web Design Project

Congratulations to Nathan, Sarah, Amanda, Zak, Josh, Tom, and Becky, who have been busy over the past 6 weeks uploading data and editing photographs in designing this web site. This has only been possible due to a grant we received from the Burnley Community Network.
The group will now be responsible for updating it with all the information from the club.
Well Done!!
