New Leader Appointed
John Melvin has been appointed as the new leader of the club. John has a long history with the club an ex member and has been involved in various capacities over many years including volunteering at events, on evening sessions and serving on the management committee. He is a family man, who's children have both attended the club and understands the "Boys Club" way of life.
All the Management Committee agree that he has the club at heart and we are sure he is the right person to move the club forward in these ever changing times.
Burnley Wins LACYP Mural Competition
Congratulations to Burnley Boys Club, winner of the 2010 Mural Competition.
The judging was completed by Fat Media on Friday 18th June.
“ All the murals were excellent and all showed a great deal of thought and wide involvement. Burnley was the winner as the final result was the strongest at showing “club life” and gave a real sense of the place and what goes on”

The winners will receive £50 of Hobbycraft vouchers and the runners up receiving £30 worth of acrylic paints and brushes which was donated by Hobbycraft.

Tom Becomes LACYP Senior Member Of The Year

Congratulations go to Tom Melvin, who has just been voted LACYP Senior Member Of The Year. Tom has been a member of the club for many years and over the past couple of years has been volunteering on a regular basis. Acting club leader Christine Sollice said, "Tom's story is typical of many of our young people at the club, he has attended the club for many years has a member and now wants to volunteer and support the staff to help the younger members progress. He is a credit to himself and his parents".
Kerrie Just Misses Out

Burnley Boys' Club Volunteer Kerrie Halpin narrowly missed out on becoming the LACYP "Clubs Got Talent" winner. Out of a field of over a dozen acts Kerrie was placed a very respectable 2nd. Acting club leader, Christine Sollis said "Kerrie is such a fantastic singer and we was sure she was going to win the event, but we are all pleased that she achieved runner up"
Old Boys' Association
Do you want to be a part of the good work we do at the Boys' Club? Why not join our Old Boys' Association and help arrange events, and support our future development. For more information contact the club or come along to our Annual General meeting on Wednesday 28th April 8pm at the club.
Sportsman's Dinner
Once again we are holding our annual Sportsman's Dinner. This year it will be held on Friday 29th January with compare Mike King introducing comedian Carl Schofield and ex footballer Steve Kindon. For tickets or more information please ring the club any evening between 7pm -- 10pm.

Web Design Project
Congratulations to Nathan, Sarah, Amanda, Zak, Josh, Tom, and Becky, who have been busy over the past 6 weeks uploading data and editing photographs in designing this web site. This has only been possible due to a grant we received from the Burnley Community Network.
The group will now be responsible for updating it with all the information from the club.
